R2I - I spoke too soon

... here. We arrived in Oct '06 and were doing well for about 5 weeks, and have been continuously sick ever since. Amongst the 4 of us, we have fallen sick 13 times in 7 weeks!!! Unbelievable! I am tired, being sick myself or having to care for sick kids everyday for the last few weeks. My older one has hardly fallen sick in the US, and is now compenating for all that. We have been passing the virus around and the cycle seems to be endless. Since the start of winter in November, the weather has been varying a lot in a course of 24 hours. Cold at night and pretty warm during the day.

Having my parents close by has been the biggest boon. I have no clue how I could have possibly managed without them.

PS: If you are planning on relocating, please allot a few months just to get your bodies adjusted to the local climate. I am not sure when we are all going to actually be absolutely fine, but I am really hoping it is going to be soon.

Hopefully you are on Anti Biotics since that what seems to work out here.

This year has been bit different compared to say last or before last. We are experiencing much more coldness than before (especially in monrings).

Cheers

To add, even me and my family gone through this when we moved in from Mumbai, I guess this is temporaty and can range between few weeks to 3-4 months, the climatic changes and temparature variations ( swings between minimum and maxiumum in a day if more than 10 degrees may be the issue)

hold on! once 'stabilized' you will never want to leave the city even for a week...

Thanks guys for your thoughts. It was a case of 'gastroenteritis' and yes, the kids had to go on antibiotics. Hub and I are making do with prescription drugs, and we should all be well by the weekend, hopefully!

My son had a very terrible time with the mosquitoes here. He had rashes all over his body for the first six months.
The dr said, there was nothing we could do until he developed an immunity to it and then it was just a case of an itch.
How is it in Bangalore - I mean the mosquito menace ?

The worst school one can put his/her child in bangalore, is Jain International school bangalore.
It is full of bullies, pathetic food, and drugs, smoking, chewing of tobbacco going on in the dorms at night. They dont even know if a child has missed class, there is no record. Apperently nothing being stopped. My son was there early this year, he was badly beaten by a dorm teacher, his nose was bleading heavily, his front dentures broke, and his face was swollen. After all that they didn't want him to tell this incident to his parents. They did not inform us about how bad he was hurt.Living abroad,we were feeling helpless. I just wonder how the indian school board, allow such an institution to go on and call themselves International school.
It is merely a money making institution with a good infra- structure.
